Professional Practice
At the beginning of my second year at university the whole academic year was split and put into groups of people you wouldn't usually meet. We were then to split into smaller groups by choosing what project we wanted to work on.
I chose to work on ways that festivals could be more environmentally friendly.

My team and I decided that plastic cups were one of the top problems that makes festivals so bad for the environment. We came up with reusable cups that festival goers receive on entry and can put in one of the above 'bins', and receive £1 as incentive to add to the bins.

They will not be able to bring their own cups, and the price of the admission ticket includes the price of the cup, wristband and leaflet; which describes the cups and the use of the bins.

The cups can be reused throughout the festival, there are wash stations around the grounds next to the bins/are a part of the bins. The wash stations are encouraged to be used before depositing in the bins. The bin will register each cup deposited and dispense a £1 per cup.

The festival will be able to hire the use of the bins, if they want the wash stations or would prefer to pay for the cups to be washed after everything is returned. We couldn't quite figure out how to supply the wash stations with water.
